Career pathway
opportunities
Our Support Services department is well-structured, with clear career pathways and plenty of development opportunities. We like to ‘grow our own talent’ and actively encourage all our staff to develop their skills.
We provide additional training and development, and there are opportunities for staff to work their way up to supervisor, team leader or assistant manager.
Why choose Swansea Bay UHB for Support Services?
Our health board is key to the local area, and our support roles are an essential part of it, ensuring our clinical staff can focus on patients safely. Being part of our team is a rewarding and sometimes challenging experience, where no two days are the same.
Flexibility
Our health board is made up of five major hospitals as well as smaller clinics across the area. Whether you want to be part of a busy hospital, or work within a smaller team, we have roles across all locations, and you can choose where will suit you best.
Looking after you
To support our staff, we provide well-being support, including counselling and TRiM (Trauma Risk Management).
Enhanced payment
Healthcare is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – which means our support services are provided outside of standard working hours. We work on a rota-based system, ensuring shift patterns are fair – and we provide higher hourly pay when you work weekends, evenings, and nights.
