Assistant technical officer (ATO) / Pharmacy assistant (AfC Band 2-3)

Pharmacy assistants are responsible for the assembly and dispensing of items against prescriptions and management of stock supplies and storage. Pharmacy assistants work across our hospital and primary care services (care homes and patients own homes) reviewing medicines usage. They also work in aseptics preparing medicines in specialist clean rooms. Typical duties include receipt of stock from suppliers, delivery and collection of pharmacy items across departments, and reducing medication waste. They also liaise with healthcare colleagues and members of the public by participating in reception duties within our dispensaries.
