Allied health professionals

Allied health professionals make up the third largest clinical workforce in the NHS. They are a diverse group of clinicians who deliver high-quality care to patients across a wide range of care pathways and in a variety of different settings from hospital to home. They assess, diagnose, treat and refer onto other services. They train and mentor students, clinicians and work closely with carers and other agencies cultivating relationships across organisational boundaries. There are many different roles working across a range of sectors from emergency response and diagnosis to mental health, physical rehabilitation and children and young people’s services; all play a crucial part in rehabilitation and improving the lives of people.
